So my Photographer emailed me back after my presentation was already done, so I am going to post the questions and answers here! (BTW it is kinda cool being able to communicate with a semi-famous photographer)
Good morning Taylor,
Sorry for the late response, I hope you're still on time. I'm truly glad you enjoy my work and that you've reached me. In response to your questions I would say:
Question 1: Where do you get your inspiration for your photography?
1. I get my inspiration from knowing new places, I've traveled my fair share and I actually began taking photographs on my first trip in 2008, I purchased my first DSLR (a Nikon D3000) for this trip without having previous knowledge of photography. It was a 6 months backpacking trip through South America and I decided I had a have a memorable photos, so that's how I started.
Question 2: What type of camera do you use?
2. 80% of the photos were taken with a Nikon D3000 and an 18-55 lens, the rest and newer ones are with a Nikon D5100 and same lens plus a 55-300 lens.
Question 3: What is your favorite subject to photograph?
3. My favorite subject are definitely all kind of animals.
Question 4: Do you intentionally try to capture specific facial expressions when photographing animals?
4. It is definitely intentional, I try to capture their inner nature with their expressions. I try to get as close as I can in a respectful way and I try to be very patient.
Question 5: What are your greatest achievements thus far?
5. Being recognized by National Geographic has definitely been one of my dreams and top achievements, and thanks to the exposure they give to my work, I see my pictures posted on blogs and sites all over the world, I get comments and likes from people I have never imagined to reach, It's been amazing. I also have two photographs published in a Magazine for the ITAM in Mexico regarding "Nomads".
Thank you again for reaching out and sorry for the late response, I hope I was helpful.
